Super Benefit Event!

Our annual event held in support of Kate's Club was absolutely a super night! We had a great turnout and everyone enjoyed themselves. Ms. Gail and Heather D both wore the best dresses (especially the color!!!). Heather C and Madame Mandala also added to the fun, as always!

Breathless Paper Co. Greeting Cards!

We are sooooooo excited! Our in house line, Breathless Paper Co. has just launched the new greeting card line! It is stocked in the shop and they are absolutely fantastic! All the designs are originals and have been copy written. Come and get a great card for everyone you know!

This fabulous one of a kind desk was made from metal pipes and old wood! I think it has so much style and would make an absolutely fantastic statement in a room and definitely be original!

Great Annual Event!

We are having our annual fund raising event for Kate's Club! It is going to be really great this year. We have Absolute Vodka providing drinks, Rosebud Restaurant providing wonderful local food and lots of great raffle items. We also have gift with purchase bags! They are full of great stuff! The event is on Thursday July 30th and starts at 6pm and ends at 10pm.

The Perfect Floor Length Mirror

It is so hard to find a floor length mirror that is not super tacky and lacking all style. Most floor length mirrors you find are just a plain old mirror that you attach to the wall or a highly ornate one. We customize these and they can have any kind of molding you want and can be in any color!

We have these really fun and funky bags! They are a denim on the outside and inside, each has a fun vintage fabric. The best part is that the straps can be changed around and feel like a new bag all the time!

Before & After

Doing design work is a constant for us. It is a lot of fun and allows us to use so many different areas of our creativity in design. Each one is different. Currently, home staging for home owners and realtors tying to make their homes look the best they can to potential home buyers. Some of the homes have been so much fun to work on! A few we did from top to bottom. Choosing the paint colors for the walls to every single furnishing and accessory. The most recent one that we did is on Emory Road and will be having its first open house on Sunday. It is a fantastic home. I could move right in! The last home we did on Lanier Blvd in Virginia Highland was under contract after the first day it was on the market! The response on our design work was astounding! i am posting some before and after shots of the home that we just finished last evening. 

Disco Dress

We call this really fun dress, the Disco Dress! It is perfect for a dance party and would be really fun to wear! And, they are actually comfortable to wear too.

Garden Style Side Table

Sometimes bringing the outside in, really works in a room! These garden style ceramic side tables are a perfect example. You can not only use them on a porch or garden room, you can also use them as a side table in a living room or even a bedroom. They add a little flair that is really different. It also adds some originality to a room and great natural toned colors!

Perfectly Sweet Summer Dress

This is the perfectly sweet summer dress for any occasion! It can be dressed up or just worn with pretty flip flops. It is lined and the perfect knee length! 

Depression Glass

Depression Glass is a great vintage touch to add to any table. I happen to really love it! We have dinner plates in a light pink, small dessert plates and clear bowls. They are such a great find!

So Much Fun!

This coffee table made from an old hand truck and old wagon wheels is such a great conversation piece to add in a family room. It just came in and is already going to a nice home! I think it is a really cool and fun piece. The hand tufted 8x11 all wool rug it is sitting on is full of color and I absolutely love it! We also had it a while ago in an 8' round which was equally as great! It really adds a fun aspect to a room with solid colors. It has pink, brown, yellow, orange, white and charcoal! 

Handmade Ceramic Necklace Pendants

These handmade ceramic necklace pendants are all handmade in Birmingham Alabama. They are so great! They all come on a leather necklace and are packaged in a small canvas bag. Perfect for a gift!

Great Style

This set of Vintage Chairs have been refinished in a great chocolate brown and upholstered in a great heavy white duck cloth. They are really comfortable and have such great style! We only have a set of two! They are a traditional pencil reed.

They are a must see!

Trays Full of Color

We just got in these great round trays and bowls that are all hand painted. They are really special. Each one is different but they are all full of bright happy colors! We have them in green, black, pink and yellow. 

Really Different Flowers

For some reason I can not stay away from anything with flowers! Oh yeah, and pink! I never thought I liked girly things so much until I started to really pay attention to it. A few weeks ago, I came across the most fantastic white ceramic plates with handmade flowers around the edges. So, I bought all that they had. They are great for a gift because they can really go in any style of decor. They also can be used for many things other than a traditional plate. You could hang them on the wall for simple accessorizing, use them for candle trays, and I could go on and on. A few may have to make their way to my house, I do not think I will be able to resist!

Design Books

I absolutely love design books! They really give some of the best ideas and can help you come up with an idea on your own. They are just fun to peak through. I have them at my fingertips at all times at my place. We also have quite a lot at the shop always, for you to purchase or just enjoy at the shop!

Classic With A Twist

Classic style is timeless and will always be enjoyed. I love classic style with a twist! A perfect example of this would be the set of Louis Arm Chairs we have in the shop. We have a traditional set in a really great french gray with a white cotton linen fabric. They are great looking. We also have a set in a true red finish, which is bright and wonderfully loud. The fabric we have on them is a simple white canvas. These are so fun and add a little twist to a very classic chair. They really would add a great pop of color and a pop of style. They are available in any of our color finishes as well!

Totally Fantastic Hutch

We just got in a totally fantastic hutch that is a natural pine finish. It is in two pieces which makes it super easy to move. I really have fallen in love with this one. I love the versatility of it. This hutch can lend itself to so many different types of styles. It can fit in a very rustic environment as well as a classic style or even a modern atmosphere. Besides the style being really great, the storage capacity is just as wonderful. The top portion has glass panels on the doors allowing it to be used for display and the bottom doors have wood panels allowing for your things to be hidden as well. You just have to see it in person. The value of this piece is unbelievable especially for all it offers. Don't forget, we can also alter the size and order it in any of our Surroundings, Inc. color finishes.

I got to thinking that red, white and blue are so prevalent in so many items throughout the shop which I never thought of before today. We have table linens, bedding, taper candles and even furniture pieces in these wonderful American colors! And we have have them year round not just during this time of year and that's pretty cool!

Super Cute Little Summer Vest

The Alternative Apparel Super Cute Little Summer Vest has arrived! It is the perfect 'add on' for so many summer outfits. It is a great lightweight cotton so it does not add so much to make you even hotter, especially important in Atlanta. So many layering clothing items make it impossible to wear anything needing to be a layering piece in the heat. We thought this was so great to have in The Little Black Dress Room for the Summer. It can be worn with a pair of jeans and a tee, a skirt and a tee or even over a sundress. They really are super cute!

A Little Birdy

So many people love birds, anything with a bird motif. I had no idea how popular this was until recently when I started to really notice. From time to time we get new items in with birds. I started to become aware that these things would just fly out of the shop! As we noticed this we started to really try to find great things with birds. We came across these adorable handmade pillows last year and have been getting them in regularly since then. The pillows are available in an eighteen inch square or a lumbar pillow. I have to say, I think they are super cute! They come in a bunch of really bright colors and are great to add a little punch of color in a room.

You can always find great Letterpress Cards at the shop. We carry Snow & Graham which is made in Chicago. It is a line that has been around for quite a while and we are happy to offer it! 

Celebration is Right Around The Corner!

The 4th. of July is this upcoming Saturday and at Urban Cottage, Inc. we will be celebrating! On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, a huge sale is happening! Gail and I have decided to offer a discount to everyone who comes shopping in honor of Independence Day and my Birthday. I absolutely hate my birthday. I am not exactly sure why, but I just do! So, to make it a happy and enjoyable day I want everyone else to really have fun at the shop! We have gotten in so many new things and everyone should treat themselves to something special in honor of a great American Holiday. Speaking of American, our dear friend and a wonderful artist, Carla Kaiser has created an entire limited edition Pinch Pot line in honor of America. It is called the 'Americano' Collection and they are all wonderful and unique. The outside is a wonderful blue and white and the inside the perfect red. They are red, white and blue which is perfectly American! I think they are a necessity for making your table festive for the fourth! Plus, they are great to have anywhere year round to enjoy and love!
