Summer Perfect Setting

Sometimes certain furnishings and accessories just lend themselves to being part of the perfect settings for summer. I think the colors and textures play a huge part in that. For example, in this picture, the ice blue sofa and chair feel really cool and feel good in the hot part of the year. The bright colors and mix of different accessories create a Summer Perfect Setting.

Bellini Bride

Bellini Bride is having their Launch Party at the shop on Sunday June 14th. We are teaming up with them to help them create a one stop shop for Brides in Atlanta. Urban Cottage is the suggestion for Registry, Robin Nathan is the Photography person, Mandy Gispart is for Hair and Makeup, Breathless Paper Co. for Invitations and there are many more vendors that they are working with. It should be a fun party and a great concept!

Funky Espresso Cups

These Funky Espresso Cups are so wonderful! I wish I had an espresso machine and then I would need them! They are made in france and are available in pink (my absolute favorite), bright blue, lime green, baby yellow, tangerine and wine red. We also have dessert bowls that match! 

Absolutely Perfect Baby Announcements

Another thing that Matt of Breathless Paper Co. does absolutely perfect is baby announcements. Besides Wedding Invitations and Save The Dates, these are really the best of the best! I love stationary and really love buying cards for the shop to sell. So, I have really seen all that is offered in the invitation and announcement department. These, Breathless Paper Co.'s, are the best. They are classic yet different. Absolutely perfect.

The Indie Craft Experience

Carla Kaiser and I set up our Urban Cottage Booth at ICE this morning. ICE is the Indie Craft Experience and is a festival held in Centennial Olympic Park in Downtown Atlanta. It is basically a craft show where artists sell their wares. There were some really great people set up and some really awesome crafts. One of my favorites was Jeanette Zeis Pottery. We always have her wonderful neighborhood mugs. She is quite a talented potter. I bought my mom an absolutely adorable white berry bowl! She was so excited. Another artist that was their was Samantha of Talulah B. She makes jewelry out of vintage buttons and all different parts. She is also so much fun! Both Carla and I got a chance to walk around and see all the wares of everyone who set up. We have Tarot Readings by Madame Mandala and some of our handmade things from the shop on display. One very exciting thing from the day was being able to enjoy Madame Mandala's crystals. She is now selling them too. I had so much fun organizing all of her beautiful crystals.

A Little Something To Make You Feel Good

We just got a bunch of new little notebooks and books in the shop. They are a little something, just to make you feel good! You can treat yourself and one up for a good friend or family member, just as a treat!

Serenbe May Day Festival

I finally have gotten our photos from our space at the Serenbe May Day! I wanted to share them because the Urban Cottage team really had so much fun working together to create a very small version of the shop in our tent. It turned out to be quite cozy and cheery. Carla from Concrete Lace, Heather Curtis from Last Night Designs, Matt from Breathless Paper Co. and I all worked together. What a great day!

Linen Water

If you are looking for a treat to make your linens smell absolutely lovely, just add linen water. You can also add a splash to your ironing. It really makes the task a little more fun.

Really Good Cookbooks

You can find some of the best cookbooks at the shop! Because they have been doing so well, we have increased what we have to offer. One that we have, is called 'The Bride and Groom's First Cookbook.' It is a great engagement, shower or wedding gift. One that I like to suggest as a great gift is 'Big Night In.' It has fabulous recipes for making the perfect things for dinner parties or just a great family dinner. Another great one for party cooking ideas is 'Simple Soirees.' We have 'The Produce Bible.' This is one I had to have for myself. Basically, it lists all different vegetables and then recipes for using the vegetable or fruit. Everything I have made from The Produce Bible, has been pretty easy to follow and everything I have made has been great! We have great cookbooks to buy for your self as well as the perfect one to give as a gift. We even have ones on making yummy fun drinks!

Summery Signs

As you know, we have great Intown Atlanta Neighborhood Signs. We also have some others that we have made for us as well. And they are just in time for your summer spots! We have Welcome to the Lake, Welcome to the Beach, Love Shack, Welcome to the Cabin and many others for you to place in your get away! Even though I think they are perfect for summer, we do have them all year round! They are great and hand crafted!
