Sometimes it is hard to keep everything organized. We have these fantastic Italian Leather Planning Journals. They are perfect to help you organize all the information you have. Pendants

If possible in a room, I always suggest the use of pendants. Gail and I have come across some really fantastic finds with pendants. We offer a line of Pendants that are hand crafted and created by graphic designers of Paper Cloud. Some of the pendants that we have had really have looked so wonderful even just in the shop! I almost am always sad to see them go. Anyhow, we can always get any of their styles shipped to the shop. They are quite unlike most pendants you will come across in your search.

Kitchen Islands

I love when a kitchen has character and can have a Kitchen Island that is different from all the rest of the cabinetry in the room. My mom has one of our Kitce Islands in her kitchen that was made especially for her space. It is a really cute one on the space. It is in our Nordic Blue Finish with a dark brown top. It is one of the Surroundings, Inc. pieces. One of the best things on it is the towel bar on the side. It makes it really cute! The best part about the island is that it is so functional in the kitchen!

Lighting is so Important!

Lighting is one thing that I have always thought absolutely can make (or break) a room. I LOVE lamps, all kinds! Gail and I are constantly on the search for fantastic lighting to offer to all who shop at Urban Cottage. We have lots of different styles of lamps. Some very modern, very rustic or even classical. Sometimes, we find fantastic objects and have them made into lamps. We pick all of the parts and have them all put together to make a great one of a kind lamp. Those usually fly out the door. We always carry Aiden Gray Lamps. These are some of my favorites primarily because they are made so well and can fit in almost any decor. If we do not have one in stock, we can always get it and the turn around time is great! Many of them have a great old world feel and can be dressed up or be in a casual setting as well. Such versatility with these! Besides the way they look in a room, they provide great light. If a room dose not have good lighting, it is so dreary. Good lighting really is so important to any room!

Think Green

Everyone needs a little notebook to throw in your handbag or even your pocket. You just never know when you will need to jot down an important thought or make a list. Why not use an eco-friendly one made from all recycled products. The Think Green ones we have are quite cute and the perfect size. They have plenty of pages unlike many small pocket sized notebooks do so you will not run out so frequently. 

Bright & Cheery!

I absolutely love these designs! The textiles are all hand embroidered and made in India. We have many items that just arrived in these bright and wonderful patterns. Placemats and napkins just arrived. They are so bright and cheery. They make you want to run home and set your table! The detail is amazing and so different from many that I have seen. I am so excited that we have these and could not wait to put them out. Even the shop looks happier! Plus, the pillows should be arriving any day! They are sure to brighten up any room!

Father's Day is Around the Corner!

We have the perfect little book to let your father know how important he is! And, we also have a fantastic blank journal. Sometimes you just want to give a little something to say that you appreciate them. What could be more perfect! Father's Day is Sunday June 21st. Don't forget!

Looking Perfect!

One of my favorite people, Carla Kaiser (Concrete Lace) just had the Kid's Bed / Settee delivered to her house today from the shop. She had to have it! I fell in love with this piece and am so glad it has a happy home. Now, I can see it whenever I visit her! She put Coleccion Luna Pillows on it which make it so cozy! And, I love how it has one of her colorful paintings to the right on the wall. This is such a happy room. 

Really Fun Cocktail Rings

A few weeks ago we started carrying these really fun cocktail rings. They are made in California and have a retro feel. They are quite large, but I just had to have them! I am excited because everyone seems to be excited to see them and they have been doing really well! I am going to place another order and make them be something we always have. The price point makes it great so you can even buy them as a gift!

Lightweight Cardigan

Even thought it is really hot in the summer, some places are cold inside and you need just a lightweight cardigan to throw on to keep you comfortable. You can find the perfect lightweight cardigan in white or black in our Little Black Dress Room! We have ones from Alternative Apparel and Aldo Fernando. Some are long and some are short.
